Sears (Willis) Tower

Originally Designed: 2014

I designed this model as one of the 4 commissioned undiagrammed designs featured in "Origami City". These were designs which folders who completed the rest of the book's 30 projects could then aspire to fold. The book's page limit and easier difficulty level for the target audience is responsible for much of that unfortunate fact.

This was a fun model to design and turned out to be fairly close to the actual tower with its asymmetrical pillars and antenna at the top. Because the model is three dimensional the normal rules with mountains and valleys in crease patterns do not apply. One day I might diagram this or at least redraw the cp with some of the crease lines drawn in a different color used to define a partial fold.
