I first learned about origami though John Montroll's groundbreaking title "Origami for the Enthusiast" around 1996 or '97 and have been hooked on this hobby ever since. I started designing my own models early, but the majority of them came about by just doodling, e.g., folding a sheet of paper without any actual specific outcome in mind. In 2004, I got a hold of Robert Lang's "Origami Design Secrets", which was fundamental in my own quest of becoming a better origami artist and designer.
In late 2012 I was fortunate enough to receive a recommendation to contribute a few designs for a new book titled "Origami Masters: Bugs" which turned out to be a springboard for my origami career.
